Hello from the Netherlands and asking for advice/help

Hi everybody,

I'm a Volvo fan from the Netherlands, currently driving a light blue Volvo 245 from 1984 (b19k).

As with all things Volvo what better way to find something then in Sweden! I'm searching for a newer model for my daily driver. Because it would also be a great trip I am looking to import a car from Sweden. Currently searching for a Volvo 940 estate, with automatic gearbox. Preferably a Polar with AC and other luxuries (since my current 245 is a beauty in it simplicity I would like some luxury).

I bought my 245 through the Dutch Volvo club and have met some nice people with love for their cars. With this reason I'm reaching out to your club, maybe someone could help. I'm already looking on blocket.se on a daily basis. Also I have an acquaintance living in Stockholm willing to check and buy the car for me and get the car ready for export so that part is taken care off.

Hope I could get some tips or maybe someone knows someone who want to sell their 940.

Thanks in advance!

Wouter

Are there also other places then on blocket.se to check for possible available cars?

Blocket.se is by far the largest marketplace in Sweden for used cars.
However, there are numerous groups on Facebook dedicated to Volvo classifieds.
It is a bit harder to find the really good ones and it is generally safer to use Blocket.se but in your situation, I would give Facebook a try.

Having someone with a Swedish drivers license to take ownership of the car and prepare it for export does in my opinion makes it a lot easier for the seller. The Swedish export process is not that hard but many would refrain from the extra paperwork and rather sell to someone local.

Good luck in your search!
