Svenska Volvo 7/900 Klubben

Hello guys

I've found these LEDs: BA15s-10x5w 800lumen, 7.2 Watt, High power OSRAM led's, 6000-6500 K.

They are 52 mm long. Will they fit on a 945? I want to use them as backup/reversing lights. I don't want extra lights on the back of my car, but I do need more light. And this seems to be easier then converting the units to Xenon.

PS the only site that seems to have them is in Dutch.

As i can see there is no problem as its smaller than a standard ba15s 21W light bulb.

Oops, I should have thought of that myself. The text says you have to check if they fit as they might be slightly to long for some cars. Maybe I should not believe anything they say on the internet.

Does anybody know how much more light these 800 lumen LEds deliver in real live, when compared to ordinary light bulbs?

Well they surely do put out more light than a regular bulb.

But if you want as much light as possible I recommend this one

I tried to order them, but postage alone is more then one of these lights. And I can't find another source for these, except for some supplier in Hong Kong. I tried Hong Kong once, the lights were cheap and so was the quality.

I'm not from "across the pond", at least not the big one. (Just added my location to my profile)

From here to Sweden is a bit cheaper then from Sweden to NL. But "from the USA" is "OUCH". Not just the postage, but the prices they ask for Volvo parts....

Hello guys (and girls)

It toke a while, but today I received the LEDs EkF recommended. WOW. I finally can see what's behind my car. Funny thing is, it looks like most of the light is spread out to the sides where I would have expected that the light would be emitted in a much smaller angle.

Well that's strange, I've got the same ones in my 744 and it's a pretty narrow angle. However, SMD LEDs really like to spread the light over a 180 degree angle.
My friend has a E30 and has the bulbs you linked in the first post, and when we back up to a wall, mine is a bit narrower and more concentrated (also a lot brighter)

Maybe that's caused by the difference between the taillight of the sedan and the estate.
